Things To Do

We’re so excited to spend a summer weekend in West Michigan with our favorite people! Whether you’re hoping to relax on the beach, explore charming lakeshore towns, or grab great food and drinks, there’s plenty to enjoy nearby.

A classic West Michigan beach experience. Walk the pier, watch boats pass by, and enjoy a lively beach scene right downtown.

Beach/Dunes: North Beach Park

18775 North Shore Drive, Spring Lake, MI 49456

Located on the north side of the Grand Haven pier, this beach is a little less crowded and backed by a large sand dune. It’s also just a few doors down from Tom Izzo’s place (Go Green!).

Beach/Dunes: P. J. Hoffmaster State Park

6585 Lake Harbor Road, Norton Shores, MI 49441

Beautiful beaches and multiple sand dunes. Great for hiking, lake views, and sunsets

Beach/Dunes: Pere Marquette Park

A wide, sandy beach right in Muskegon with easy access to downtown shops, restaurants, and the lakefront.

Beach/Dunes: Ottawa Sands Lake

Ferrysburg, MI 49456

Not a beach, but a peaceful park filled with sandy hiking trails. Located next to North Beach Park and perfect for a walk or morning adventure.

Explore & Play: Grand Haven Boardwalk, Lighthouse & Pier

Grand Haven, MI

Walk the boardwalk along the Grand River, cross the channel, and head out to the lighthouse and pier for unbeatable views — especially at sunset.

Explore & Play: Grand Haven Main Street

519 Washington Avenue, Grand Haven, MI 49417

If you’re in town during Coast Guard Festival weekend, downtown Grand Haven will be buzzing with activity — including a carnival, live music, and events along the waterfront. There are also plenty of cute local shops to wander in and out of along Washington Avenue.

Quick Food: Butch's Beach Burritos

726 South Harbor Drive, Grand Haven, MI 49417

A Grand Haven classic for a casual bite — perfect after the beach.

Quick Food: Pronto Pups

313 South Harbor Drive, Grand Haven, MI 49417

Another Grand Haven staple, known for their classic corn dogs right by the water.

Drinks: Odd Side Ales

41 Washington Avenue, Grand Haven, MI 49417

One of our favorite breweries, located right downtown Grand Haven. They also operate as a coffee shop in the mornings.

Drinks: Tip-A-Few Tavern & Restaurant

Don't let the wedding weekend stress you out . . . go here for the strongest pour in town.

Drinks/Resturant:Noto's at the Bil-Mar

A beachside restaurant and bar with lake views, casual food, and a great summer vibe. Best Beach views at sunset.

Drinks/Resturant: The Kirby House

2 Washington Avenue, Grand Haven, MI 49417

Great location and nice views from their top deck. . . they also have a management team that was foolish enough to hire all of the Steffel boys during their high school years. There is also a new "speakeasy" that recently opened in the downstairs area.
