We met during Abbey’s first shift in the emergency room in 2017. Abbey remembers calling her mom on the way home saying “I just met my future husband.” We finally got together in 2018 when Abbey pursued Blair on a night out for his birthday. She may have had some liquid courage and asked him if he would take her out on a date. Thus began the story of us :)

We were vacationing in South Australia, spending the week on Kangaroo Island visiting with Blair’s childhood best friend and his family. We went to Flinder’s Chase national park to hike for the day. Abbey will never forget this was the first and only time she saw Blair nervous (despite being in stressful situations at work quite frequently). We were driving to our next hike and he took a very deep breath and blamed his nerves on driving on the opposite side of the road. Abbey walked around a giant rock formation along the ocean and Blair was down on one knee with an epic view of the ocean and rocky coastline.
