Flight

Chicago Midway International Airport & Chicago O'Hare International Airport

Chicago has two major airports - Midway and O'Hare - that are easily accessible from the city. Midway is closer to the wedding venue and hotel block. Transportation options from the airports include uber/lyft, taxis, rental cars, the 'L' train. Depending on the time of day, the 'L' will be the fastest, cheapest, and easiest way to get into the city. If you have any questions, feel free to text Abbey or Evan!

Train

The 'L' Train

The 'L' is an easy way to get around the city. Google maps or the ventra app can be used to show you train routes. You can pay at any turnstile with a credit card, apple pay, or Ventra card. Ventra cards can be purchased at train stations. We usually use our tap to pay credit card on our phones, cost is $2.50 per trip and includes transfers.

Airbnb or Vrbo

There are lots of great options on Airbnb or Vrbo if you prefer to stay in one of these accommodations. We suggest booking early, as late summer is a popular time for tourists in the city. Below are a few neighborhoods we recommend that will be fun areas to stay and convenient locations for the weekend activities. The West Loop is best known for its amazing food scene, trendy bars/lounges, and shopping. If you're looking to enjoy some of the best restaurants and night life in the city, this neighborhood will not disappoint. River North is more centrally located and has access to Michigan Ave/Magnificent Mile, Lake Michigan and the Chicago Riverwalk. This area is a great location if you want to explore some of Chicago's most popular attractions. Gold Coast and Lincoln Park are nestled along the Lake Michigan shoreline and have direct access to lush green spaces, scenic walking paths, and the free Lincoln Park Zoo. Summertime Chi will be on full display here.
