Cass: I was living at home in West Dundee & felt God leading me back to dance. I dove into Zumba & started teaching at LA Fitness. I kept hoping I would meet my future husband at my church, and let’s just say it wasn’t going well... Anth: I was fresh out of college, living at home in Sleepy Hollow, & commuting to Chicago for work. Needless to say I wasn’t expecting to meet my wife. I mean, if I didn’t meet her in the Wrigley Field bleachers at one of the 26 Cubs games I went to that summer—she definitely wasn’t living in Chicago. C: Meeting someone at church was going so terribly that after Zumba one day, one mom overheard me talking about how I was dating someone but just recently it ended. Enter Anth’s mom, Kathy. She poked her head in & said, “Did you just say you’re single!?” After hearing a complete resume of her son I thought: This guy sounds too good to be true. Guarantee this is going to be one of those “perfect on paper, zero connection in person” type of situations. But what the heck, what do I have to lose… A: After talking about her “cute Zumba instructor” for weeks, I got home from work one day to her number. My mom insisted I “text Cassie right away or she’s going to get taken!” I agreed under one condition: she would stay out of it & let me take it from there. C: That week Anth picked me up & took me to Emmett’s. We ordered spinach & artichoke dip & got so caught up talking that we forgot to order dinner or drinks. After 2 ½ hours he drove me home, walked me to my parent’s door, & said “I had a great time tonight. We should do this again sometime.” A: Cassie said, “I would love that!” I distinctly remember, because the way she said it convinced me that she actually wanted a second date. Three years later I proposed on Christmas Eve 2018. C: 2 years & 3 wedding dates later, we couldn’t be more excited to finally be married & start this new chapter of our lives. First on our list is moving to the suburbs & getting a pup we’ve already named Emmett. :)
