Hope and David first met at Kansas State University during their Sophomore year of college. One of Hope’s sorority sisters set the couple up because David was just her type (tall, dark, and handsome with a good sense of humor and some questionable dance moves). After a weekend away at David’s fraternity formal trip to Omaha, Nebraska the pair realized they had a lot more in common than they anticipated—a love for adventure, a deep appreciation for Doritos, and a shared class together. After that weekend David was smitten with Hope due to her heart melting dimples, kindness for others, and because he loved that she was smarter than him. David used the bi-weekly class to get to know Hope better, always walking her to her on campus job after class so that he could continue talking to her. After David’s persistent texting over the summer and his dance moves during serenades that fall, Hope and David finally started dating the beginning of their Junior year. Seven years later, a move to Kansas City, three degrees, two pets, and a home together David and Hope are inseparable. They cannot wait to celebrate their love with family and friends in August!

After a trip to Colorado with David's little brother, Roberto, Hope was sure David would propose during one of their many scenic hikes. However, David had bigger plans in store. He planned a college visit for Roberto on the way home from Colorado at their Alma Mater as a guise for a secret proposal. After walking through campus together, he stopped at the building in which they shared their first class together. The tour guide prompted the group to stand in front of the building for a picture and David dropped to his knees to propose. Hope of course said yes.
