FAQs

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We are having our wedding at the Royalton Riviera Resort in Cancun and we highly recommend booking your rooms there. We have a group rate where people can book their rooms at a discounted rate as part of the wedding, so we recommend booking your room early to take advantage of this deal. The deadline to make your deposit on the room as part of our group rate is September 19th. You can definitely RSVP and book your room after this date- we personally do not have a deadline and know that people's schedules are subject to change- but you will have to book your room at the regular rates on the Roytalton hotel website. You can go to the Travel tab to find the link for the booking platform. You can choose to stay at a different resort if you would like, however in order to attend the events at the Roytalton, you must purchase a day pass for each day of events.

Question

How do I get to the resort?

Answer

On the booking platform, you are able to book round-trip airport transport through a shuttle. We HIGHLY recommend doing this as the taxis outside the Cancun airport can be unreliable. Please reach out if you have any questions regarding this.

Question

What type of room do I book?

Answer

We have reserved a block of the basic Luxury Junior Suite rooms for our guests to book- this room accommodates up to 4 people and is the cheapest room option. If you would like to upgrade your room, you can do so when you are filling out your information on the booking platform. Additionally, if you would like to split a room with someone but do not have someone in mind, reach out to Aarushi (678-780-1380) and I can help figure out rooming arrangements.

Question

What do we wear?

Answer

The following is the recommended attire for all events: Welcome Dinner: semi-formal (short dresses, suits) or Indian attire || Haldi/Mendhi: sundresses, shorts and nice shirt, Indian attire. Please wear white or yellow only to this event || Sangeet: Indian attire || Wedding ceremony: Indian attire || Reception: formal wear (long gowns, suits) or Indian attire || These are what we recommend for our guests to wear, but our main priority is for everyone to be comfortable and enjoy the celebration with us. Please feel free to adjust this based on what is comfortable to you. We have examples of appropriate attire on a pinterest board here, for convenience: https://pin.it/15SViqCSe

Question

What do we do for food and will there be drinks served?

Answer

There will be food provided (appetizers or full meal depending on the event) and an open bar at our non-religious events. However, the resort is an all-inclusive. The price of food/drinks is included in the price of your hotel room, so at times that events are not being hosted, you can eat the the buffet in the resort or make reservations for the restaurants at the resort at no additional cost.

Question

Can I bring a +1?

Answer

Your invitation will specify whether or not we have included a +1 for you. If it does not have one listed, we will not be accounting for one with your RSVP. Reach out to Aarushi (678-780-1380) or Megh (706-818-0803) if there is no +1 listed and you would like to add one and we may be able to accommodate.

Question

Is there anything to do around the hotel?

Answer

Yes, the hotel property does include several excursions that you can book. There are water activities, a spa, a fitness center, daily entertainment, and nightly shows. Between events, there is plenty to do at the resort that our guests can take advantage of.
