This park hosts the iconic Horsetooth Rock that you can see from town. We recommend either the 3.25 mile Horsetooth Falls Trail or the 5 mile Horsetooth Rock Trail. Count on an elevation gain of 1400 feet and 3.5 hours of hiking time for Horsetooth Rock. Arrive early to get a parking spot. Check the website for more details.
This is a flat walk around ponds near the Poudre River. There is a nice boardwalk through a wetland. Great for ducks and other bird-watching. Micha loves this Natural Area!
This hike has a little elevation gain with some nice views of town. There are grasslands and mountain mahogany shrublands. Park at the parking lot at the end of Michaud Lane. Watch for prairie rattlesnakes here (stay on the trail).
