Aaron and Eliza first met at the Midwest Poultry Federation Convention in March 2018. At the student career fair, they were paired together for "speed networking"... little did they know it would turn into much more than networking! They immediately bonded over their many similarities: both grew up in central Minnesota, shared a Catholic faith, and were planning careers in the poultry industry. After a few months of getting to know each other, they began dating in August 2018. Aaron proposed on November 13, 2021. Eliza had been traveling for veterinary school rotations for two months, and was flying out of Nashville, TN to head back to Minnesota. Aaron flew in from his job in West Virginia to meet Eliza for a weekend of fun in Nashville. He scheduled a tour of the Ryman Auditorium, the original home of the Grand Ole Opry. Eliza, who had been to the Ryman before, was excited to share this place with Aaron for the first time. They stepped up on stage to have their photograph taken, and Aaron got down on one knee to pop the question. Eliza couldn't say YES fast enough!
