Aaron and I met in 2009 at a small school in Casa Grande, called Central Arizona College. I played for the school’s softball team, he was on the basketball team, and coincidentally his dorm room was directly across mine (I don't know how he got so lucky) haha. We had a few classes together, so he would come to my dorm so we could “study” which meant we would listen to music, and I would occasionally fart out loud so he knew we were strictly friends haha. We got to know each other more and became very close. I wish I could have gave him more but I was in a relationship at that time, so once the school year was over we both went our separate ways. Seven years went by and we both moved on with our lives. I finished school in New Mexico, got married, and had two daughters (Drew and Quin). Aaron left after his first year and transferred to a school in Georgia. Once he graduated he continued with his basketball career and played professionally overseas for 4 years in Portugal and Sweden. After being married for 4 years, I filed for a divorce and moved back to Tucson with my girls. Aaron was in town for the summer so we reconnected on Instagram and met up for dinner. You know the saying, “If you love something let it go. And if it comes back, then its meant to be.” Thats pretty much what it felt like. We instantly fell back into those same feelings we had for each other years ago. Aaron was able to fill the void the girls and I were missing. Together we have grown and continue to grow as a couple, as parents to Drew and Quin, and as a family. I thank God for allowing us to find each other again. He was the one who almost got away ;)
