Peter and Aaron met while coaching baseball together and running North Portland Little League. In a sign of the friendship to come, Aaron called Peter "Scott" for an entire season and no one corrected him. Not. A. Single. Person. When asked at the end of the season after Aaron realized his mistake, Peter just said "Eh, I knew who you were talking to. It's all good" Peter is one of the kindest, most loyal friends that Aaron has. While they have taken different roads through life, their friendship is rooted in respect, mutual admiration, and most importantly, baseball.

In the world of complicated Viet family trees, Nguyen Thy is technically Vy's "aunt". But in terms of real life relationships, she is like a sister and bestie. From elementary school sleepovers to dance clubs in their 20s to nowadays going on vacations where they are in bed by 9pm, Nguyen Thy has been there through all the different stages :)

Troy and Aaron met in 2001 when Troy was the General Manager of the TGI Friday's next to the Mall of America. He not only has hired Aaron at multiple restaurants, but he also holds the distinction of being the only person to fire Aaron twice. Serving tables was not Aaron's strong suit. But what that says in the greater scope of life is that Troy always looks for the good in people and when he believes in you, he believes in you without question. Enough to give chance after chance to help people live up to their potential.

On an Alaskan cruise, Lisa famously ate lobster tails for every course of a dinner, subbing them in for the appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert. She was then jealous that another guest somehow ate more lobster than her.

Ryan and Aaron met in 2000 rocking out at Edgefest in Somerset, WI. It was the heyday of nu metal and Ryan and Aaron were all about it. Aaron and Jordan (also attending) needed a place to crash since their plan of "meeting some chicks with a camping spot" didn't pan out. Ryan, his dad, and his friends were all kind enough to invite Aaron and Jordan in for a weekend of rock and roll, partying, and a killer brunch. Ryan and Aaron have been through many storms together and now in their old age can reflect on how remarkable this 20+ year friendship has been. Both have built families, settled down, committed to sobriety, and learned many lessons from their early days. Well, I guess we're all getting together at this wedding for the family building thing..

Will and Aaron lived together in Cape Town, South Africa in 2013. During the intensity of that experience, they had a bi-weekly dinner plan to just calm down and have quality conversations amongst all the exploration, cultural submersion, and work. Since then, Will has become a trusted friend that Aaron frequently leans on when he needs to talk through life. While there are not pics of Will and Aaron shark cage diving as there should be, Will and Aaron still frequently meet for dinner and do their best Ron Swanson impression by eating as many types of grilled meat as possible.

Be An, as she is affectionately called in the family, is one of Vy's closest cousins. She can always be counted on to know what's happening with Grandma, what's on the menu for family gatherings, and what color to wear for family pics. She is one of the few family members who consistently remembers that Vy is gluten-free and never tries to poison Vy with gluten.

"Bougie Baby" Rei has been practicing for the big moment since the day we announced our engagement. She has tried out a variety of poses, dances, and outfits to perfect her entrance. If anyone is going to steal the show, it will be this sassy little ray of sunshine!

Avie is over it. She's been at this flower girl game since she was only 2 years old, but she's willing to be the expert flower girl to support Rei and Aerilyn on their first gig. Avie also shares a deep love of Legos with Aaron, so any time they both feel over the crazy family hijinks, they retreat to a quiet corner to build rollercoasters and castles.

Our joyous little tornado of a niece. She loves food and DGAF about what you think. At her second birthday, Aaron gave her a box of Ritz crackers and it was by far her favorite present. She knows how to work a crowd and is stinkin' cute doing it.
