How We Met

First came college… then graduation… and now, marriage!

Our love story began in 2017 when we both became student-athletes at Brewton-Parker College—completely by fate. I (originally from Los Angeles, California) earned a wrestling scholarship, while Aaron (from DeKalb, Georgia) received a baseball scholarship. Neither of us had Brewton-Parker on our radar, but life had other plans. Our connection started through a mutual friend—my former high school teammate, who also happened to be close with Aaron. She spoke so highly of him, and it didn’t take long before I understood exactly why. From cheering each other on at our games and athletic events to being there during life’s tougher moments, we quickly became each other’s biggest supporters. Being so far from home was difficult for me, especially since I had no immediate family in Georgia, except for my amazing cousin in Atlanta, hours away. But on December 4, 2017, everything changed: Aaron asked me to be his girlfriend, and from that moment, he became my sense of home and comfort. When college breaks came, we endured the challenges of long-distance love. Living in different states meant going months without seeing each other, but for five years, we made it work. And in 2022, we finally closed the distance. I graduated, we moved into our first apartment together, and I took a leap of faith, knowing Aaron was the man of my dreams. We officially became college sweethearts when he graduated in 2021. Then, on July 1, 2023, during a trip to California for my graduation party, I was surprised with the sweetest proposal. I flew in as Aaron’s girlfriend and flew back as his fiancée, with my mom and his mom both there to witness the magic. Now, here we are in 2025—seven years later—ready to say “I do” and begin our forever. We couldn’t be more excited to start this new chapter together.
