Things To Do

We're sharing some of our favorite places to eat in the Bay Area... there is no shortage of brunch spots ;)

Sequoia Diner

3719 MacArthur Boulevard, Oakland, CA 94619

Great spot for Brunch. Black and locally owned.

Plow

1299 18th Street, San Francisco, CA 94107

Farm-to-table brunch spot. They don't take reservations. If you're going on the weekend, make sure to get there at opening or expect an hour plus wait.

Standard Fare

2701 Eighth Street, Berkeley, CA 94710

Another great brunch spot. If you like spicy, ask for the secret fermented peppers. Best time to go is on a Saturday morning/afternoon after 9:30 for the full brunch menu. They're closed on Sundays & Mondays.

Sam's Log Cabin

945 San Pablo Avenue, Albany, CA 94706

... one more brunch recommendation with outdoor only seating

Babette

2033 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94702

Babette is great for lunch, brunch, or dinner. Saturday afternoon's they typically have a jazz band playing in the patio.

El Patio

2056 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94702

Great spot for Arepas ... and if you couldn't guess from the name, they have a patio

Burdell

4640 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland, CA 94609

Soul food with a modern twist. Black and locally owned.

Jo's Modern Thai

3725 MacArthur Boulevard, Oakland, CA 94619

Yummy Thai Food

Souvla

517 Hayes Street, San Francisco, CA 94102

If you're venturing into San Francisco, Soulva is a yummy Greek spot for lunch or a quick dinner. There are several locations in the city. We highly recommend getting the frozen Greek yogurt with sea salt and olive oil for dessert.

Foreign Cinema

2534 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA 94110

A fun hidden gem in SF. Check it out for lunch or brunch, but if you go for dinner, they might be a screening of an old classic movie on their giant back patio wall. Reservations recommended.

Saltbreaker

2350 Saratoga Street, Alameda, CA 94501

Dinner spot. Recommend the fresh pasta.

Tacos Oscar

420 40th Street, Oakland, CA 94609

Probably our favorite taco spot in the Bay... and there are vegan options! Outdoor seating only.

Belotti Ristorante E Bottega

5403 College Avenue, Oakland, CA 94618

For authentic Italian, you have to try Beloitti. Reservation highly recommended.

Pucquio

5337 College Avenue, Oakland, CA 94618

If you're looking for Ceviche, check out this Peruvian spot. It's small and intimate with a staff of 3 - two chefs and the host, Kevin.

Mia

439 Water Street, Oakland, CA 94607

Another great taco spot and it's family-owned!

Tucker's Ice Cream

1349 Park Street, Alameda, CA 94501

If you want to visit where Sevita worked in high school and get some double-creamed ice cream on a chocolate waffle cone, check out Tucker's

Original Pattern Brewing

292 4th Street, Oakland, CA 94607

If beer is your thing, check out Original Pattern. It's great for groups. They typically have a pizza vendor who makes delicious thin crusted wood fire oven pizzas.

Cellarmaker House of Pizza

300 Webster Street, Oakland, CA 94607

Another great spot for beer and groups. Cellarmakers pizza is a thick Chicago-styled deep-dish pizza, cut so you always get a corner piece.

Rosenblum Cellars

10 Clay Street, Oakland, CA 94607

If drinking wine with a waterfront view is more your vibe, check out Rosenblum Cellars.

Ad Hoc

6476 Washington Street, Yountville, CA 94599

If you're venturing off to Napa, we highly recommend Thomas Keller's restaurant Ad Hoc.

The Charter Oak Restaurant

1050 Charter Oak Avenue, St. Helena, CA 94574

This might be Sevita's favorite restaurant :) A must if visiting Napa. The menu is always rotating, but they usually always have the "Raw Vegetables From Our Farm". This simple and fresh starter comes with a hand made dip bursting with favor.
