Things To Do
Hawthorn Haven is located in the Great Smoky Mountains, providing plenty of opportunities to explore nature. Located minutes from Cataloochee Valley Homestead, where you will find an old school house, churches, a graveyard, homes, and endless hiking trails. Cataloochee Valley is also known for the number of elk they have living there. They travel down to a big field below the cabins. On your way to the venue, you may see them eat and bugle.
Waynesville has many breweries and restaurants. A few of our favorites include Boojum Brewery and Frog Level Brewing Company.
Hawthorn Haven is 20 to 30 minutes from Asheville and its eclectic downtown area as well as the beautiful Biltmore Estate, which is known as the largest home anywhere along the East Coast.
Cherokee is 20 to 30 minutes away, the home of "Unto These Hills, Outdoor Drama", a historic Cherokee Indian artifacts' site, as well as Harrah's Cherokee Casino.
