We met at Burdette Park where we were both lifeguards. We became close as we spent every summer together for six years. It was summer love. After spending our days at the pool, we spent most of our nights at the drive-in, ice cream shop, or driving around listening to music. What started as a summer romance eventually blossomed into love as we started dating just before Megan left for her Freshman year at WKU. Distance tested our relationship and even pulled us apart for awhile; however, true love stands the test of time. As Aaron graduated from USI and sought out on his pursuit of a Master's degree from WKU, the distance between us was instantly shorter literally and figuratively. We grew closer together and our bond strengthened. The rest as they say, is history..
It was the morning of August 3rd, 2017. With adrenaline pumping, Aaron boarded a plane for Florida. Megan was soaking up the sun on the Jacksonville Beach with no insight as to what would transpire in the hours to follow. With the help of Megan's older sister Katie, Aaron was able to sneak in to the hotel Megan and her family was staying and eventually set up the scene all without being spotted by Megan. Thinking she was headed down to the beach for a family photo, Megan dressed up and took to the beach with her parents and younger sister. Megan was surprised to find Aaron on the beach where he got down on one knee and presented the ring! Help us celebrate as we bring this West Side Love Story home to where it all began. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to party, we can't wait to celebrate with you!
