Even though we were both living in Oakland in 2015, the first time we met was on Thanksgiving at an Artist's Residency in Johnson, Vermont. The month-long experience was nothing short of thrilling, and at the end, we'd developed the base of our friendship. After getting back from Vermont, Mary moved to Portland, and Aaron started a new job in San Mateo. Even though there was over 600 miles between us, we still kept in touch--there were tons of emails, long calls, and constant texts. In November 2017, two years after we initially met, Mary moved to the Bay Area and we've remained partners ever since. We've been through new jobs and new houses, art projects and endless writing, cooking challenges and beer tastings, sad tears and happy tears, COVID and countless other adventures, and after six amazing years together, we can't wait to get married.
