How They Met

December 2020 ~ Where It All Began

Aaron & Laura first matched on Bumble at the end of December 2020. They chatted via text for several weeks & immediately had a stong connection, eventually having their first date on Feb 9, 2021. On March 6, 2021 they made it official! In July 2021, they moved in together & in September 2021, they left Laura’s apt of 8 years to start a new adventure together in a fresh new place with their dog Kobe. Within 2 weeks of moving into their new place they adopted another puppy, Bentley & the rest is history. 😍

The Proposal

March 6, 2022

On their 1st anniversary they were on an annual March vacation in Tampa Florida to visit Laura’s sister, Beth, brother in law Brian, & nephew Andrew. 🤗 Laura, always wanting an adventure wanted to swim with sharks…despite Aaron’s lack of love for being in ocean water. 🦈 🚣‍♀️ Not finding a safe way to swim with sharks, Laura suggested kayaking to Honeymoon island (a kayking trip she had taken a few years before). Aaron had never been in a kayak before, but Laura thought kayaking to an island in the ocean would make such a great 1st anniversary memory (she wasn’t wrong)! So Aaron obliged thinking…how bad could it really be…the day was windy enough to produce white caps, but it’s fine, other people were making it out there with no problems. They’d make it just fine. Within 20 mins of being in the kayak a large wave produced by a boat & a jet ski cutting through the boats wake came barraling towards the side of the kayak. 🌊 While they survived the 1st wave, the 2nd was much larger & in the blink of an eye, they had flipped…in the middle of the ocean…of which Aaron very much dislikes. 😅 After being rescued by 3 jet skis & getting back to dry land, they decided a day laying at the beach was what they really needed. They had survived what the kayak operators called “the divorce boat”. 🤣 🌅 Fast forward to later that night. Aaron & Laura love watching sunsets especially on trips so when Aaron suggested a walk on the beach at sunset before dinner, Laura thought nothing out of the norm. After walking the beach for about 15 mins they came to an end & suddenly Aaron becomes indecisive on where they should set the blanket to sit & wait for the sun to go down. 🤷 Suggesting one place then moving them a few feet over & then moving them back, Laura became very confused as Aaron is generally not a picky man. She thought to herself “dude who cares, the sun isnt going to move that much that 4 feet would make a difference in the view”…still nonethewiser mind you. As she begins to turn around to go to the new suggested area, she sees Aaron on one knee. He asks her to marry him 💍 at which point her mind is still trying to wrap around what was actually happening & to which she responds “wait, are you serious?” followed by of course, YES!! Turns out Aaron had hired a photographer 📸 that was standing a few yards back & signaling him to move to different spots to get the perfect shot. 🥰 They watched the sunset & then headed to an amazing italian dinner. 🌹
