Aaron and I met online while we we're both living in Cincinnati in the spring of 2019. We both lived in Cincinnati right out of college and both moved away for a few years. We went to a lot of the same places and are sure we crossed paths at some point back then! Well we couldn't stay away and ended up moving back to Cincinnati within a few months of one another. Our first date was an evening event at the Cincinnati Zoo "Tunes & Blooms" with live music and drinks all around the zoo. Afterwards we ended up going out to dinner and then to drinks. Safe to say neither one of us wanted the date to end!

The week we got engaged Aaron had been hyping up a few surprises he had planned. Saturday morning, he took me to a spa to get couples massages and I got my nails done. After the massage I was suuuper relaxed but he insisted on taking our dog Lilly on a walk. It was a nice winter day so I agreed (even though I just wanted to keep the relaxation going haha!). We took our usual route to the park, across from our building, on the Lake. There is a gorgeous point that looks over the city that we usually stop and soak in the view from (because of the pandemic we spend a lot of time here). That day Aaron was hoofing it to the point and I was trailing behind still in my post massage haze confused as to why he was suddenly walking so fast. Once we got to the point we sat down to soak up the view and that's when Aaron proposed! Once we arrived back at our building there was a limo waiting. We hopped in, called all our family and friends and soaked in the moment. We eventually ended up at a small airport - the limo drove right onto the tarmac and we took a helicopter tour of Chicago. We were able to see our building and the point where we had just gotten engaged! It was the most amazing day!
