Kelly and Aaron first met spontaneously at a mutual friend’s birthday dinner in October 2017. Aaron noticed Kelly from across the table and, with the help of a little liquid courage, started the first of many conversations. They hit it off immediately and became inseparable soon after. Their relationship grew as they shared countless adventures, both big and small. In January 2020, they moved to Brisbane, Australia, where Aaron began medical school. Shortly after, the world shut down because of the pandemic, and they found themselves quarantined in a 250-square-foot studio apartment on the other side of the world from everyone they knew. Kelly and Aaron leaned into their shared sense of humor, teamwork, and unwavering support for one another to get through it and realized they truly could face anything together. When quarantine lifted, Kelly and Aaron explored Australia, made lifelong friends, and loved all the new experiences, but they missed all their loved ones back home. In 2022, they moved to New Orleans for Aaron’s second phase of medical school. They quickly fell in love with the vibrant culture, amazing food, lively music, and endless parades and celebrations. Living just two blocks from Bourbon Street in the heart of the French Quarter, their life was a nonstop party! During this time, they welcomed their dachshund puppy, Bear, who immediately stole their hearts and took control of their lives. In July 2023, while visiting Minnesota, Aaron surprised Kelly with a romantic picnic at Boom Island Park in Northeast Minneapolis. Under the hot summer sun, Aaron excitedly told Kelly that he wanted her in his life forever. When he got down on one knee, Kelly joyfully said "yes!" and it was the easiest decision she’d ever made. They celebrated with dinner and drinks, dreaming about the next chapter of their story.
