We met in Newbury Park, CA working at Amgen back in 2011 down in the Security Operations Center. Yes, Aaron was Felicia's supervisor! Boy how the tables have turned, LOL. After spending our work day together, eating lunch together, we had decided to go out and hang out grab a beer, play some pool and just enjoy being around each others company. Little did we know, our friendship blossomed into something more.
Our first date was at Castaway in Burbank, CA. if anyone has been to this restaurant, it is known for their breathtaking scenic views of the Burbank, San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles region. We both enjoyed a wonderful dinner and some drinks taking in the scenic views and deep intellectual conversation on life, family, goals, hobbies etc.
5 years later, it was February 13, 2016. Aaron decided to celebrate Valentines Day the day before to avoid the crowds. Aaron had dinner reservations planned at Castaway, where they had their first official date. Dinner went well, they sat outside at a small table surrounded by what seemed to be thousands of guests to Aaron. They both took in the scenic views and reminisced about their first date. Dinner was finally over and onto dessert. Aaron went to the restroom to give himself a halftime pep talk. When Aaron returned, they had just finished and paid the check. Now or Never! They decided to walk the property and get closer to the fence line to take some pictures and enjoy the beautiful views. They ended up being away from the rest of the dinner crowd but just so happened to be where a few of the restaurant staff were taking their break. Aaron decided then, to get onto one knee and ask Felicia to spend the rest of her life with him. Felicia was speechless (literally speechless..surprise, surprise). Aaron stayed there and had to re ask to get an answer from Felicia. Felicia, began to cry and nodded her head. Finally, Aaron was able to get back up off his knee. They both celebrated with a huge kiss and a memorable picture. They then drove to Aaron's parents house where his mother and father surprised them both with champagne, gifts and cards! 6 years later, LOL - thanks COVID!! here we are and cant wait to celebrate our big day with each of you!
