Both the bride and groom remove their shoes and exchange one so that they are both holding one of each shoe. A series of questions are asked, and the answer is either "the bride [Elsie]" or "the groom [Aaron]." The bride and groom "answer" by holding up the shoe of the person they chose. For instance, the question could be "Who's the better cook?" If Elsie thinks Aaron is, she holds up his shoe, and if Aaron thinks Elsie is, he holds up her shoe. The key is that they are facing away from each other, and they don't get to see the other's answer until they both have lifted up the shoe. Hilarity often ensues.
