I transferred to Gordon College after my sophomore year at Stetson, and Aaron was in one of my classes. I thought he was so cute, and I wanted to get to know him. Being new to the school, I thought this may be a good in. I reached out to him on Facebook asking if he had any advice for the assignments and exams since I hadn't had this professor before. He responded with an essay, many smiley faces, and questions to continue the conversation. Little did I know he was planning on reaching out to me if I hadn't messaged him that day. After many study dates, hikes, and walks on the beach, he asked me to officially be his girlfriend on January 16th 2018. I came home that weekend and told my mom that I had met a man who had all the characteristics that I had always prayed for in a future husband. I laughed and said it would be a bonus if he could ski. Well, two weeks later Aaron was on the slopes with us, and not only could he ski, he was amazing. I was all in. We had the best two years together in college, and even had the opportunity to go to New Zealand together through Gordon. After graduation, Aaron headed to medical school while I took a gap year before starting nursing school. In March 2021, we visited Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah. While there, we felt the Lord's presence so strongly and felt Him blessing our relationship. It was one of the most amazing spiritual experiences we've ever had. Aaron had been preparing for his Step 1 boards exam all year. We planned a fun weekend with friends to Acadia National Park to celebrate him being done. He took his boards exam on June 9th, and we headed to Acadia! On June 12th, we set off to hike Sargent Mountain. We were the only ones up there, and it was one of the most stunning and surreal moments. He proposed on a beautiful ledge overlooking the ocean, with just us and the Lord as our witness. It was more perfect than anything I ever dreamed. When we got down from the hike, two of my best friends and my dad and Brian were waiting for us at the Airbnb with the place completely decorated. We celebrated with dinner all together, and had the most fun weekend in awe of God's love for us and how faithful He was to bring us together. As we approach our wedding, we are so excited and humbled to be starting this new journey and adventure together. We seriously can't get over the incredible blessing that God has given us through each other, and the love He has for us to prepare such an amazing partner for both of us. Thank you for all your support, prayers, and love through the years. We can't wait to celebrate our new beginning on the new year with you!
