We LOVE to go here to run and walk, go across the walking bridge to Indiana, and wander along the riverfront! Always lots to see and do around here. It goes for miles along the river.
The scenic loop is a great way to enjoy nature in the midst of the city, whether you walk, run, drive, bike, roller skate, or do the crab-crawl! Louisville has some really beautiful parks, and this is one we really enjoy running and hiking through. Gorgeous in every season! There is an area called Dog Hill that is great for wearing out fetching pups like Maddy!
Aaron's alma mater -- it's beautiful campus that we've wandered around before. They have a cafeteria and starbucks options so you can grab a few snacks and take a walk!
If you need a plant souvenir or just want to check out where Chelsea spends most of her time, check out this lovely little nursery! They pack a lot of beautiful plants in a small space! We may be biased, but it really is the best one in town!
This road has many parts, & within Louisville city limits there is a great number of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, shopping (clothing, home decor, specialties, novelties, and souvenirs) to check out!
Another great LOCAL coffee date location on a busy corner of Bardstown road (great to wander up and down) -- it's right next to the Graeter's! :) They also have many locations, but the other ones are not neighbors with the best ice cream in town...
If you need amazing coffee, there are lots of good options in town, but when we want a nice little coffee date with the good stuff, we crave Sunergos (pronounced 'sun-err-goss' around here, NOT Soon-ER-goes like you might think)! They have many locations, this one is just the closest (and maybe the original?)
This is a cool park area with a beautiful old building. Also near another area of great strips of bakeries, restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. on Frankfort Ave.
This is a delicious pizza place within walking distance from us. We have been known to wander that way a time or two...
a bit of a fancier place, this is also right around the corner from us and highly reviewed in Louisville!
Such a cute little place! Its right across from our church (Sojourn) so we like to pick up a cinnamon roll after sunday services for a little treat.
This section of Market Street is up-and-coming! This awesome local creamery / ice-cream shop is TO-DIE-FOR delicious! And while you're eating your sweets you can wander down to the Garage Bar, Feast BBQ, Grind Burgers, as well as various other interesting shops within that block!
a great little spot on the bourbon tour that has some great live bands to dance to every now and then!
We've only been here once or twice but we pass it every time we go on a dog walk! They've had live bands and lots of other jam-packed evenings, but it's really just a nice little neighborhood hangout bar. Everyobody in Louisville knows it!
Delicioso! A favorite brunch spot of ours with a Mexican theme, on the bustling Frankfort avenue. It is TINY though and they don't take reservations, so get there early and wander around the block while one of your party waits in the line... :)
OK the address says MAIN but it is really on Frankfort ave. A great local sandwich place with homemade bagels, decent coffee options and lots of colorful local folk! Almost always busy.
A great breakfast /brunch place
It's got a nice view of the city
