Real Art Ways
Check out the wedding venue early! Real Art Ways (RAW) is an art space open to the public (and free!). For a reasonable admission fee, you can catch an independent film in their cozy movie theater. Check their website for show times.
New Park Brewing
This is a favorite local spot for excellent IPAs and sours. Check their website for what's on tap and, more importantly, what food truck is parked in their lot.
Hog River Brewing Co.
Another favorite spot. Best atmosphere, usually some live music and a food truck. Fun Fact: this was a potential wedding location! Other Fun Fact: Aaron's parents made it into the brewery's promo pictures! Look closely to see Ethan's signature fedora!
Monte Alban Restaurant
Our favorite Mexican restaurant, possibly our favorite restaurant in general. If you grab a bite here, you will be eating in our neighborhood!
Elizabeth Park Rose Garden
We walk Diego to this beautiful and historical park almost every day. It is the oldest municipal rose garden in the US! A great spot for a walk or picnic.
Bushnell Park Carousel
A vintage 1914 carousel standing in the oldest publicly funded park in the US, Bushnell Park. The carousel is home to 48 hand-carved wooden horses. There will be a "Royal Tea" from 1pm-3pm the Sunday of our weeding weekend, a great event for any kiddos attending our celebration!
Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art
An excellent fine art museum downtown, walking distance from the Hartford Marriott.
Bear's Smokehouse Barbecue
Good barbecue right across the street from the Marriott.
The Blind Pig Pizza Co.
A good place for pizza and beer, also right across the street from the Marriott. Try the "Bittersweet," it's our favorite!
Mark Twain House & Museum
Mark Twain lived in Hartford! Go check out his house!
Connecticut Science Center
The CT Science Center is just a block down the street from the Marriott. This is a great activity for kids.
LimeBike
LimeBike, an inexpensive app-based bike rental program, has recently come to Hartford. You can find LimeBikes to rent all over downtown Hartford using the LimeBike app. Have fun!
