We’re Married!!

Aaron and I met Fall 2006 our Freshmen Year at Hutch Tech. He was the quiet boy from my first period history class, now sitting alone at the basketball game. I told Alexis “I have a crush on him, but I think he’s a sophomore lol” she basically said “SAY LESS”! He was so shy, but my girl went to work! We started talking and hanging out regularly. Getting to know one another, there was strong chemistry. My mom swore it was “puppy love”. He would come over to sit on the porch so often that when Wednesday night around 7p rolled around, if we were still sitting on the porch my mom would invite him to come to Bible study. She eventually started inviting him in for dinner some days lol. June 25, 2007 was a Monday we had come to my house right after school. We were hanging on the porch vibing all afternoon. It was time for him to head home, and of course I was sad I never wanted him to leave. We said our goodbyes and he walked off the porch to leave. He got in front of the neighbors house turned around and said “shawnt you wanna be my girlfriend” and turned back around and continued walking. I was soooooo excited I’m like yes, but he didn’t respond.. maybe he didn’t hear me... “YESS” I yelled now half way down the street. The man kept walking like a smooth criminal and never looked back! Needless to say 2 kids, New Home Owner’s & 13.5 years later... on August 30th 2020 the most romantic proposal ever! He was on vacation from work so he said we’d get room and spend a day relaxing. When we got to the room he opened the door and I saw a candle lit walk way w/ rose petals and pictures of me along the walk way. I thought it was soo romantic and that he was doing something nice for me because I was tired & pregnant... but when I got past the walk way there was rose petals shaped into a heart and I noticed balloons with pictures of both me and him hanging from the balloons. It was at that moment my heart stopped I turned around to find him on One Knee “Will You Marry Me”???
