How We Met

A true, "The Girl Next Door" story

Some things in life are a total coincidence, but Aaron and Alexis' love story was meant to be from day one. Alexis moved into a new neighborhood with her family in early 2012. She was 16 and a Junior in high school. Aaron quickly noticed Alexis but, in natural Aaron fashion, assumed she was the nanny for her siblings. Aaron would play outside with Matthew and Lola and try to get information on who Alexis was. He did this for months until Jaime, Alexis' mom, hired him at The Sandwich Spot. Lucky for Aaron, Alexis was working there as well-- score! Jaime loved Aaron and always joked with Alexis that they should date. Jaime and Tammy, Aaron's mom, we're good friends and they would talk about Aaron and Alexis getting married and having kids with grandmas across the street from each other. Little did they know that their dream would eventually become reality! After a few months of working together, Jaime convinced Aaron to take Alexis out on a date. They went to the mall, got sushi, and the rest is history. They attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa together and once they both graduated, they moved home to be closer to family. Alexis' mom had passed away in October of 2016 to breast cancer, but she would be proud to see the couple they have become. They now have two beautiful daughters, Penelope and Rory, and have made a lovely life for themselves in their hometown. COVID-19 (and baby Rory) put a pause on their big wedding celebration, so on November 21st, 2020 they eloped! They're looking forward to finally celebrating their marriage with the people they love the most on July 3rd, 2021.
