In 2016, Michaela got hired to work at Willowbrook Rehabilitation. During one of her first days, a tall, dark, and handsome man came rushing through the door to start his shift. She didn't know it at the time, but he had his eye on her from day one. They worked many shifts together at the group home taking care of residents and sharing the ups and downs of healthcare. Before they knew it, Aaron and Michaela were inseparable. Through dates, travels, and nights in, they grew to love each other more than they could have ever guessed, and they say the rest is history.
The first few years of their relationship were magical. Aaron and Michaela spent a lot of time at Michaela's apartment in Plymouth. They traveled to Canada to see a comedy show and visited the Air Zoo in Kalamazoo. They celebrated holidays with each others families and learned more about each other as the days went on.
Aaron and Michaela went through many trials and tribulations as did many couples during the COVID-19 pandemic. They spent 6 weeks apart at the beginning of the pandemic while Aaron worked at the hospital and Michaela worked on her student teaching at Farmington High School. When they were able to reunite, they were elated. They spent their down time on the boat and riding jet skis as well as visiting with friends. They've been able to foster a deeper love for each other with each passing day.
Aaron and Michaela bought their first house together in the Summer of 2022. They've spent time since then making their house a home for them and Scout.
