Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Katrina Hartwig and Aaron Mock
IMPORTANT NOTE: No matter where you go, we stress that you wear sunscreen and breathable clothing AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. Even in fair weather, the intensity of the desert sun and dry air can be deceiving. HACIENDA DEL SOL Has three swimming pools, two restaurants, and many cozy, sunny places to visit with friends. The sunset is pretty spectacular with the sun illuminating the mountains. There is also a bocce ball court near the west pool and a fitness room. The staff is very helpful and friendly. EXCURSIONS Should you like to explore a bit further- you will not have to go very far to get a good experience of Tucson. See below for our recs! DID YOU KNOW? Tucson was designated the very first UNESCO City of Gastronomy in the United States in 2015. This recognition honors the region's 4,000-year-old agricultural history, indigenous ingredients, and unique culinary blending of Indigenous, Spanish, and Mexican traditions.

If you have children and time to spare, the Desert Museum is a 100% must. Located in the Saguaro National Forest, the Desert Museum is a fusion experience: zoo, botanical garden, art gallery & classes, natural history museum, and aquarium. We highly recommend you go early morning and plan for at least a half day, if not a full (Think walking a zoo). It's also about 45 minutes from Hacienda del Sol. That being said, Aaron still remembers his first visit when he just 5 years old! The Sonoran Desert hosts some of the most unique wildlife in the world, and this is the place to meet these incredible creatures up close. Tickets are 25 for children, 30 for adults.
