We're Getting Married!

Aaron's cousin and Eva's best friend Lizzy played little matchmaker in grade school. The church that she goes to had their annual pilgrimage to the Mother Cabrini Shrine from Watkins, Colorado. Eva finally decided to join Lizzy on this grand walk across Denver, not knowing she would find the love of her life. As they walked, one of the cross-bearers stood out among the group of stinky, dirty 13-year-old boys. His blonde hair shone brighter than the golden cross he was carrying. Eva knew from that day that on day they would end up together. Ten short years later, she was right.

If you know Aaron, you would know that an airplane ride over the Rockies on a random Friday night in August is not a typical date night idea. So yes, I knew it was coming! It was a beautiful and intimate experience flying over the mountains and seeing all of the areas Coloradans drive by when traveling to the mountains. I could tell he was getting nervous because, toward the end of the flight, he went silent and seemed anxious. When the pilot let us know that we would be landing in 10 minutes, Aaron asked him to turn off his headset for a few moments alone, got up out of his seat, and knelt in front of me in a moving plane! He reached into his jean pocket, pulled out a ring, and asked me to marry him. And just like that, almost four years later, we were engaged! We cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you! See you in the Mountains!
