Dow Gardens and the Canopy walk are a great way to spend a couple of hours outside, especially in the fall. This handicap accessible walk goes 40 feet into the trees and it's also where Christopher proposed to Aaron.
Downtown Midland offers shops, restaurants, bars, and more. Plus, Main Street is shut down part of the year to make space for games and events. Stroll though it during an evening to enjoy the fire pits as well.
It's one of the only tri-directional wooden bridges in the US and the perfect photo op. In fact, we even considered it for the ceremony.
Midland is surrounded by miles and miles of trees and rivers - so since you'll be there in October, it's the perfect time for a nature stroll! The Nature Center has both paved and unpaved trails to explore.

MCFTA is a world-class performance venue right in little ol' Midland. It was has a really nifty science and art museum that is fun for all ages!

Live Oak doubles as not only a coffee house but also has a makers space. It's a community-oriented space situated right between downtown and the Circle business district. A nice way to break up other activity.
