Alex and Jenna first met because he sat behind her in freshman Bible class their first semester at ACU. She thought he was cute and funny. He thought she was pretty and smart. Over the course of college, they ended up with lots of mutual friends, took a few classes together and volunteered for the same organization every Thursday. They'd cross paths on campus, but both thought the other person was out of their league. But the summer before senior year, they got hired by a church in inner-city Houston as co-interns for a high school youth group. Alex's car got flooded their first week in Houston so Jenna would pick him up every day and they would talk to and from work. Alex taught Jenna about rap music and Jenna made Alex try spinach smoothies. They talked about their families, their vision for ministry and they made a list of classic movies to watch together. Over the weeks, Jenna drove slower so they could talk more, they found reasons to explore Houston together on the weekends and their boss noticed that Jenna was laughing harder at Alex's jokes. Halfway through the summer, Alex told Jenna he really wanted to date once the summer was over. She smiled ear to ear and was totally on board. Then, they started low-key dating right away and they've been crazy about each other ever since. Alex is the love of Jenna's life—she loves his passion for the Lord, his compassionate heart for people, his silly sense of humor and his honest character. She loves that he challenges her in her faith and showers her with forehead kisses. He's her perfect balance and her best friend.
