The story of Darren and Adriana began on a Sunday in October of 2013. Darren had just moved to San Diego two months before from our neighbor to the north, Canada. He was continuing his exploration of San Diego and was invited by his new roommate Turbo to a “Sunday Funday” feast at El Pulpo. Little did he know that his foray into San Diego would bring much more than delicious fish tacos that day. Adriana had met up with Turbo and another friend earlier in the day to watch the team formerly known as the “San Diego Chargers” at a downtown San Diego bar. After the game ended they hung out for a while downtown and decided to grab some food and Turbo told Adriana that his new roommate, Darren would join them for dinner. It was that evening over delicious fish tacos, Mexican beer, and fresh salsa that the seeds of love were planted. After dinner, the group went back to Darren and Turbo’s apartment where Adriana and Darren talked and laughed with each other until 4:00am. Darren was drawn by her sense of humor, compassion, her outlook on life, and ofcourse her love of baseball. Adriana loved his smile, sense of humor, and those mesmerizing blue eyes. Since that first night of tacos and twilight conversations their love has continued to grow and weather whatever storms life has brought. Through it all they have continued to love and support each other. Finally on March 23rd, 2019 they will unite as one in holy matrimony before God, their loved ones, and with a great view of Petco Park.
