Dating was always exhausting for me, I had just taken a break from online dating and had decided to try Bumble (a dating app) for the second time. I almost didn't swipe right on Adam... his profile was very passionate and intense about things his political views. While I don't disagree with him, I'm just not as outspoken about my political views and I prefer to not discuss politics. I'm not sure what made me swipe right (for those of you who don't know it means I decided that I would talk to him), but I did. I didn't send him a message right away though. The next morning when I looked at my matches, I saw he lived in Novi! I had set my distance for who I'd date pretty close because I had tried dating long distance and it just wasn't working out. So, again... I almost didn't talk to him, but I did. We started talking and it came up that he was an only child and he somehow put together that we had met several times before and that he knew my best friend! Of course, after he told me that he knew me from the Fox's bean bag toss tournament, I immediately remembered who he was. My plate got caught by the wind and hit him in the face. 😂 We went on our first date and really hit it off. The more we talked and got to know each other, I realized that I'd actually been praying for him several years prior when he was going through difficult times. I'm so excited to be marrying such an incredible man who's become my best friend.

The first time Ashley remembers meeting me was when she decided to try and throw her food in my face at a party last September. I remember meeting her when she brought her sister Faith to the Fox Labor Day Weekend Bean Bag Toss Tournament. We then met again when she chose me on a dating site called Bumble. God definitely has perfect timing. If I hadn't decided to come to Lansing that night to play dominoes with Alex, Anna, and Chris Fox we may have never met again. I knew she looked familiar, but it took a little bit before I realized how I recognized her. After our first date the rest is history. She is a blessing in my life and can't wait to marry her in front of God and all our friends and family.

Adam teamed up with Ashley's best friend to plan a surprise proposal like none other. A difficult task since they'd been seriously discussing and preparing for marriage for a few months at this point!
