We're getting married!

We had been talking as friends for a while before we started dating and I was incredibly excited when I pulled up outside of her house. She walks up to the car and slips so hard on the ice that she grabs the handle of the door and almost hits the splits (I found out later because for me she fell out my view). Her mom had watched her walk out and was dying with laughter. When Aaliyah came back up she was red, glared back at her mom and buried herself in her hands for our drive. I don't remember much of what we talked about or what I ordered at Steak and Shake, the main thing I recall is dropping her off, saying "Don't slip" and getting a glare back. I had already wanted a second date and that pretty much nailed it down!

In October of 2020, Jake proposed in my favorite spot on the trails we take our dog to walk on. I found out later that my two sisters and my mom were in on the surprise. Earlier that week, my sister Chanel had asked if I wanted to go to the apple orchard to take fall pictures. When we were leaving, she brought up that Blandford Nature center put out lights on the trails and that we could take really cool photos. We began to get deeper and deeper into the woods. At this point I was ready to give up and just go home. I complained the whole way and asked multiple times if everyone wanted to just turn around and go back. They either ignored me or kept saying "its just a little further." As we approached our spot, I started to notice tea lights lined up and I turned to ask Jake "are you about to do what I think you are?" The sun was just beginning to set and the whole area was covered in candles and string lights. It was the most perfect moment.
