Enjoy a two-hour hike to Lye Brook Falls through the Green Mountain National Forest in Manchester. The trail follows a former logging railroad up a gradual slope, paralleling Lye Brook. The cascading 125-foot Lye Brook Falls is a great reward! The trailhead is located just five minutes from the Wilburton, off East Manchester Road. One of our favorites!
A wonderful hike for all levels! Enjoy an hour-long, flat hike around the pond, or spend three hours climbing to the summit for extraordinary views. To get there, take the first left after the Equinox Hotel onto Seminary Avenue. After you pass Burr & Burton Academy, take a right onto West Union Street and park at the trailhead.
The Long Trail is the oldest long-distance hiking trail in the U.S.A. It inspired the Appalachian Trail, which continues for 100 miles through southern Vermont. You can find access to the trail nearby off Route 30 on the way to Bromley. There is a parking lot on the left side of Route 30.
Listed among the “Top 75 Courses in the U.S.” by Golf Digest and the “Top 3 Courses in Vermont” by GolfWeek, this scenic 1927 Walter Travis design is located just one mile from The Wilburton. The course will test a player’s ability to hit a variety of shots to well-manicured greens.
