**COVID-19 UPDATE**

updated 8/2/2020

We have made the decision to have a smaller, more intimate ceremony/reception on 9/26/2020. Same time, same place. We will be surrounded by our immediate family and bridal party. We will also be live streaming our ceremony so everyone can still be a part of our special day. The link will be posted here, as well as sent via text/email. As you can imagine, this was an extremely hard decision for us, but we know it is the best option to have the wedding of our dreams. We understand any decisions you make in regards to travel, or if you are no longer able to attend due to the new date. Please RSVP by August 21. Thank you! Amanda and William

How we met

August 5, 2016

We originally met through a mutual friend. I was working and our mutual friend invited me to his friend's house for a fire. Will was sitting in his backyard with our friend and some girl that he was on a "date" with. An hour or so passed and Will made some smart ass comment to me and I responded back with another smart ass comment; it was then that we both realized that we were going to be good friends. As the summer went on, we grew closer and closer. We hung out several times a week and were none stop texting. I went back to school and he would visit me several times a week. I even gave him dating and "girl" advice when he asked for it. I helped him through some tough times and he the same for me. As time went on, I grew jealous of the other girls he was talking to. I wanted him to spend all of his time with me. All my friends loved him and he loved them as well. He became my closest and best friend in a matter of weeks.

Our "first" date

October 8, 2016

One thing that we bonded over the most is our love for the Boston Bruins. I had told him that I had never been to a Bruins game before, so he bought us tickets. We arrive at TD Garden, and our seats were 4 rows from the ice. How's that for a first game?! I walked in, walked down the stairs to our seats in awe. I could not stop smiling. We sat down and we looked at each other. I am not lying when I say there was a spark felt between the two of us in that moment. We both had that "oh shit I really like this person" feeling. The rest of the night was perfect, and the Bruins even won.

Making it Official

November 13, 2016

By this time, we had grown even more close. He did not want to spend his time with anyone else but me and I felt the same way. But we had never told each other how we really felt. It wasn't until Halloween time that we shared our mutual feelings for one another. One night, Will had slept over my apartment. We woke up the next morning with plans to go to my family's beach house and spend the day and watch the sunset that night. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating with our plans. Will was getting very upset that our plans were changing, and I could not understand why. I told him we could always go another day, and he confessed that the day he planned was special because he wanted to officially ask me to be his girlfriend. We then talked about how we felt for each other and that it doesn't matter where or how we become official. What truly matters is that we get to be together as a couple. So right there, laying in our pajamas at 7 in the morning, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and I said yes!

The Engagement

July 25, 2017

Will and I have been dating for about 5 or 6 months at this point. We were about to leave our local mall when the jewelry store caught my eye, and of course I had to go in and look. First it was the necklaces, then earrings, but the rings were what really drew me in. Some were really big, and some were really sparkly, but one particular one made my heart melt. It was different than other ones I had seen; it was square and extremely sparkly. I told Will that of all the rings I have ever seen, that one had to be my favorite. Will had apparently went back the next day to purchase that engagement ring. We always talked about marriage and us spending the rest of our lives together. We talked so casually about it, but at the same time it felt so real. We had planned for a few weeks to go to Little Compton, have pizza on the beach, and watch the sunset with friends. We arrived and I was so hungry and excited to be there. I put down the beach blanket and Will handed me a rock to put on one of the corners. I took a step back, tripped, and almost fell over something. I turned around and there was Will, down on one knee, holding an open ring box, upside down I might add. I was speechless, and skeptical. I kept think that he was messing with me. When he finally turned the box around, there was MY ring, the one I fell in love with. Of course I said yes, as I continued to make sure that he wasn't kidding. I completely had forgotten about the pizza and my stressful day at work, because I was about to begin the process of becoming Mrs. Porter.
