We encourage our guests to wear semi-formal/ cocktail hour for the ceremony and reception. If you know Melissa, you know she absolutely LOVES dressing up. However, she understands that not everyone shares her sentiment. The venue itself is indoor/outdoor, and we want everyone to be comfortable for the big day. We do plan on having a photographer circulating throughout the reception, getting candid shots, so keep that in mind when selecting an outfit.
Couples Recommendation: Center in the Square Parking Garage. This particular garage has some finicky hours. We encourage everyone to plan on parking their vehicle before 4:00pm, to secure free use. The garage charges a flat rate of $4 between 4:00pm- 9:00pm. We do anticipate the reception party going past 9:00pm, so guests will not be charged when they leave for the evening. We plan on beginning the ceremony promptly at 4:30pm, so we encourage guests to walk a few blocks down to Mill Mountain Coffee for a delicious afternoon coffee or Italian soda before the event! The Center in the Square Building is home to a Pinball Museum and The Roanoke Starcade, if guests would like to have a bit of pre-ceremony fun. There are admission fees to these floors, so we would recommend getting to the area no later than 2:00pm, to get your full moneys worth of enjoyment, prior to moving upstairs to the ceremony.
The event will be hosted on the 6th & 7th Floor of the Center in the Square. When you walk through the main doors, you will see a candy shop to the left, and two large fish tanks to the left and the right. The elevators are located past the candy shop, directly behind the left freshwater fish tank. Take the elevator up to the 6th floor, and exit to your right, you've made it to the venue!
We hope this would be apparent, but the health and safety of our wedding guests is of the upmost importance to us. Given the global concern over the pandemic of COVID-19, we have made the decision to postpone our ceremony and reception to April 24, 2021.
