We’re getting married!

Jacob and Cali met in a very modern way, to say the least! Jacob was utilizing TikTok as a creative outlet during the height of the pandemic, and he made a video that over 2 million people saw! Cali happened to be one of those people. After looking at his page for a little while, Cali had a big ol’ crush, and decided to take a chance!

After learning that they lived on opposite sides of the country, Cali couldn’t imagine that this would’ve gone anywhere other than a wonderful friendship! After what felt like weeks of talking (3 days) Jacob told Cali he loved her! She was just crazy enough to say it back! 2 days later, he bought her a round trip flight so they could finally meet!

Cali had just flown 2,700 miles across the country to meet a boy she met online for the first time. After 2 very long months of FaceTime calls, she was beyond nervous and excited! Jacob was anxiously waiting at the domestic baggage claim section of the Atlanta Airport for a girl with crazy blue hair. So much worry, and curiosity in both of their minds. Is he/she real? What if the spark is gone in person? What if this works out? How will we keep up long distance? But all of that seemed to fade away when they finally saw each other. Jacob and Cali always mention how that first hug was so unrepeatable. Jacob surprised Cali that day with a gorgeous peridot necklace that she hasn’t taken off in almost 5 years.

After 6 months of long distance, Jacob and Cali decided to start the adventure of living together! Cali, and 2 other roommates, had just gotten approved on an apartment in Spokane, Washington, and Jacob was ready to start something new. Cali finally booked a one-way flight to Atlanta, Georgia, and after 9 hours in the air, our adventure could begin! They made time to visit plenty of family along the way, and see beautiful parts of this country they’d never seen before! After a few tire patches, and a busted headlight, they had driven 2,700 miles across the United States together! Jacob and Cali slowly made their way back to Georgia over the years, surrounded by friends and family!

In December of 2022, Jacob and Cali were working at a Marriott Hotel in Alabama, and had just moved into a new apartment. One of Cali’s coworkers had asked if they could pet sit for the holidays while they were out of town. They had taken in a stray that had been thrown out of a car, but were looking to find her a permanent home. As soon as Cali saw a picture of this adorable kitten, she knew she had to convince Jacob that adopting her was a good idea (it honestly didn’t take much). As soon as we brought Artemis home, it felt like she had always been there. In July of 2024, Jacob and Cali had been working at Longhorn Steakhouse for several months, and had just moved into a new apartment. One of their coworker’s cat had just had kittens, and she was asking around work, showing pictures of these precious kittens. Jacob and Cali knew they were an easy sell, but Persephone made a wonderful little sister! In June of 2025, Jacob, Cali, and a few work friends were leaving a very late close, when all of the sudden, they heard the tiniest meow coming from the bushes in the parking lot of Longhorn Steakhouse. They stayed hours after clocking out to attempt to coax this kitten out of the bushes. After many failed attempts, and scratched arms, they decided to try again tomorrow. With very little hope, Cali and Jacob worked through dinner rush the next day while others were trying to help the kitten. There were bright smiles when they saw their friends lovingly cradling Astraea!
