Hooked and Booked!

It all started with me thinking he was someone else when we met up in the parking lot of Bertucci's in Braintree. We had met online and I saw a man get out of his car with the same haircut as Steve. Only he was probably 300 lbs heavier. As the man walked toward me, I thought "Here we go again; another guy who has misrepresented himself. Well, it will be more fodder for my friends." When he got closer, I smiled and said "Hi, I'm Cheryl". He gave me a look as though I just asked if he could spare a kidney and kept walking past. There was an ATM behind me and apparently, that was his destination. As I stood there feeling like an idiot, I heard another car door close. I could see the top of this man's head - same haircut. He walked around the car into view and I prayed, "Please let this be him." He walked right up to me, stuck his hand out, and said, "Hi, how are ya, I'm Steve," with quite a Boston accent. We chatted for a minute and went into the restaurant. This is where I became mute. Yes, me, unable to speak. "Hee hee hee", was all I could manage to get out. In my head, I was thinking "You are a smart and funny woman. Say something!" And you know what came out? "Hee hee hee." Oh, brother. Well, Steve took it in stride, telling me many stories and topping it off with a video of him pulling over the Easter Bunny. You read that correctly. Somewhere between my giggling and the Easter Bunny, Steve decided we should go on a second date. A second date the same day. I asked where and he pointed at the bar. I couldn't get there fast enough! We sat down and I switched from the soda water I had been drinking to a Stoli Cosmo. I took a big sip, turned and looked at him. He smiled and said with that special Steve sarcasm, "It's our second date. You can talk now." Here we are, seven years later, still giggling and talking and getting married!!
