What's the deal with the cookie table?
Answer
The cookie table is a fun western-PA tradition where friends and family bring cookies to share with everybody at the reception. We are having a cookie table and while we appreciate the bringing of cookies, there is certainly no expectation for you to do so and no requirement for enjoying in the tradition. If you decide to bring cookies: Thank you. You can bring as many as you want and whatever kind you would like (family recipes/favorites encouraged). You do not need to put them on a fancy tray or display, just bring them to the ceremony and there will be somebody to receive them as you enter the venue. The staff at the venue will arrange them on trays and display/refill the cookie table throughout the night, as-needed. Towards the end of the night, we will have some take-home containers set out on the cookie table for whatever cookies are left - help yourself.
