FAQs

Question

How can I ensure this is the best party ever?

Answer

For the health and comfort of our guests this is a completely scent free event. Do not wear perfumes or colognes of any kind. Respect people's boundaries and ask before touching/hugging/kissing. Dance your freaking butt off!!!!!!!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

As soon as possible! No later than September 30th. You can RSVP on the website or by mailing back the postcard enclosed in the invite. Feel free to ease the bride’s anxiety and do both!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Wear what makes you feel good! The party will be in a heated tent but the walk to the bathroom might be a little chilly. The grounds are a mix of grass, gravel and the tent will be wood planks with an added flat dance floor. Consider wearing sturdy shoes for walking around and no judgements on bringing your fancy party shoes to change into.

Question

How can I get to the Hudson Valley?

Answer

The easiest is to take the Metro North Hudson Line from Grand Central to Beacon. We are also looking into shuttles and possible private buses from the city. Carpooling with a designated driver is also great option. Check out our travel page for more info.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! If you will be driving we ask that you let us know if you are comfortable assisting in carpooling efforts.

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

You have some options: The party will be over around 930 pm and we can support getting people back to the train station if you want to go back to the city after. Or you can spend the night in the Hudson Valley. We have reserved a block of rooms at a hotel nearby the reception site and will be assisting with transport there - see lodging page for more information. There are also some Bed and Breakfasts nearby - just remember that there is zero public transit and you’ll be on your own to get there.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. Only the names listed on your invite envelope are invited. We are unable to accommodate additional guests.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes!! If your envelope is address to “Family” your children are included in your invitation. Please include your child’s age on your RSVP if able (or send us a private message!). We are looking into hiring childcare for the event and need to know ages as well as a headcount.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

PLEASE! We will have options for vegan and vegetarians but if you have any kind of food allergy or restriction let us know as soon as possible.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We have a registry through Zola but do not feel any pressure to get or bring us a gift. Your attendance and best dance moves are the only gift we require.

Question

Isn't this an election year?

Answer

YES. Please look into early voting or mail in voting for your state. Please do not discuss the election at the party.

Question

If I have a question that wasn’t answered here who should I contact?

Answer

Please send an email to 2derpsinlove@gmail.com
