Dating apps can be a pain, but sometimes, they work out. Chloe S and Chloe K were both browsing OKCupid one fateful day when they swiped right on each other: both because they thought it would be funny, but also because they thought the other person was cute. Chloe S liked that Chloe K listed Twin Peaks as a favorite TV show, thought it was cool that she was in library school, and was hoping that her being a barista meant free coffee. Chloe K wanted to steal a shirt Chloe S was wearing in one of her photos. They both started writing a message at the same time. Chloe S got there first, as she later would with the proposal... Their first date started at Union Square (where Chloe S learned there had been a Gandhi statue her whole life): they went to Milk Bar for ice cream, the Strand to browse books, and Veselka for an unexpected lunch. Chloe K asked Chloe S when they would fight to the death over their shared name. Chloe S didn't answer because she didn't want to put an expiration date on this. They walked to the L, hand in sweaty hand. Chloe K went for a kiss, and then they parted ways — but only for a few days... You might say the rest is history: Chloe K became a cat person and Chloe S learned to like Long Island. They moved in together. Chloe S made delicious treats, Chloe K made horrible dad jokes. They supported each other through grad school, job turmoil, and a little thing called COVID-19. Their parents joked that if you can make it through lockdown, you've found the one...but they both already knew that. In June 2021, they got engaged on a picnic in Prospect Park's Nethermead. They followed it up with donuts, and then somehow kept the engagement secret for a week until they could tell Chloe S's family in person, which made something already wonderful all the sweeter. Now, we're inviting you to celebrate that sweetness with us.
