Twas July 2008, when Danielle and Chris boarded a coach to Stansted airport, both volunteering to assist the elderly on a trip to Lourdes, France. Little did they know, that although complete strangers, they were about to embark on the journey that would become so prominent in the story of their lives. Now, while I say strangers, I must point out that this is not the first time they had set eyes on each-other. No no no, they had previously crossed paths at a mutual friends summer party, when Danielle passed Chris on the stairs while he was making out with another girl...and then again upstairs in a bedroom! But, forward to a year later, and a true friendship was blossoming, hundreds of miles from home. Just as Danielle and Chris returned back to the UK, it was time for the same mutual friend's summer party! As the BBQ wound down, talk spread of heading out to Town later that night. Unfortunately, Danielle lived quite a distance away from the rest of group, so felt she had nowhere to go to wait until the evening. Chris stepped in to save the damsel in distress, offering to drive her back to his house with him. Danielle's a sucker for good manners, so this earned Chris major points. In town and at the bar, some cheap chardonnay brought them even closer. No, they weren't drunk, but found another 2 things they had in common - they both loved a bargain, and they both hated chardonnay! A few hours later and indeed they were drunk. So much so that unfortunately Danielle couldn't make her own way home (did she plan this? We'll never know), so Chris and another friend took her back on the train. Luckily for Danielle, Chris wasn't even put off by her throwing up in the carriage. Once Danielle was tucked up in bed, Chris lay beside her on the floor and said goodnight. Danielle wasn't quite ready to let him rest and so started talking to him. She hasn't let him rest since.
