We’re getting married!

Sooo…. Here we are!!!! Two people that are totally opposite. I’ve always wanted to be married, but as I got older, I started to feel that marriage wasn’t an option for me. I was tired of all the games being played and dealing with people who didn’t have my best interests in mind. I remember having a conversation about relationships and marriage with one of my co-workers. We both were talking about how “There aren’t anymore good people out there for us…” Another one of my co-workers said, “You two just need to pray!” That night that’s exactly what I did. I got on my knees and prayed for everything I wanted in a woman. After about 20 minutes of half praying and half falling asleep, I got up and said to myself, “This prayer isn’t going too far.” Lol. Well the next night I received a phone call from Shandra asking questions about a trip we were planning for our Alumni. That 2 minute conversation turned into hours. The next day I woke up thinking about her. I really couldn’t believe it. She was everything I wanted in a woman, but I kept saying to myself, “NOT HER LORD!” We started conversing regularly. I kept fighting us being in a relationship. The more I fought the more Love she showed me. My God and all of my true friends were saying, “SHE IS THE ONE!” So finally I put my guards down. I stopped looking for perfection and started looking for what was perfect for me. I started to see the person she really was. She has a BEAUTIFUL heart and she (outside of my family) loves me unconditionally. My LOVE for her has grown each day. She has my heart. How did I get so lucky? Prayer does change things!! Look at me!! She is the R&B to my Hip-Hop! Blessed!😊🙏🏾

I have known Deron since college as an aquaintance. He was friends with many of my close friends and he was cool but just a hi and bye. I can remember when I really met Deron. It wasn’t until one day I called him to ask a question about something and we were talking and I thought wow he is kinda cool. He then saw me at an event and he was being his old flirtatious self and he charmed me with his sense of humor. He had me laughing and smiling all night. He then told me about some guy that was trying to get with me at the party and I said “What about You! Lol that totally caught him off guard. We talked for a while but the most important thing I remember Deron saying is I need to get to know you? We have definitely built a friendship before love and that is why you will always be my friend. Some people jump right in to relationships not really knowing the person and then you have no foundation built. I truly admire Deron for taking his time getting to know me and opening up to allow this relationship to flourish. Deron is my total opposite but we are perfect for each other. Where he is strong I am weak and where he is weak I am strong. We complement each other! I love this journey I am on with Deron and Caint wait to become Mrs. Cain.
