Travel Note
* Subway & Public Transport: Seoul's subway system is clean, efficient, and foreigner-friendly. Get a rechargeable T-Money card, which can be used for buses, subways, and even taxis. You can get it at any convenient store. * Taxis: In Korea, instead of Uber, people use an app called KaKao T. The app supports English too, so you can easily use it to call a taxi just like you would with Uber. Most drivers speak limited English, so it's a good idea to have your destination written in Korean * Airport Access: From Incheon International Airport, the Airport Railroad Express (AREX) or airport buses are great ways to get to central Seoul, including Gangnam.
Travel Note
* Translation Apps: Apps like Papago or Google Translate can be helpful for communication. Koreans are generally very helpful, but English proficiency varies. * Wi-Fi & SIM Cards: Free Wi-Fi is available in many public areas. You may also consider buying a SIM card or renting a portable Wi-Fi device at the airport for convenience.
Travel Note
* Currency: The local currency is the Korean Won (KRW). You can exchange money at the airport, banks, or currency exchange booths. * Credit Cards: Credit cards (Visa, Master) are widely accepted in Seoul, but it's good to carry some cash for smaller markets or local eateries.
Travel Note
* Local Cuisine: Try popular dishes like bibimbap (rice mixed with vegetables and meat), samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly), and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes). There are also many vegetarian options available. * Etiquette: In restaurants, it is common to share dishes, and many places offer a bell on the table to call for the server.
Travel Note
* Emergency Number: Dial 112 for police and 119 for medical emergencies or fire. The emergency responders are trained to provide assistance in English. * Tourist Hotline: You can dial 1330 for a multilingual tourist hotline, which provides information and assistance in several languages.
