How we met

We swiped right into our person

While navigating the woes of online dating, Christopher and Megan were both on the verge of deleting their apps and calling it quits on trying to find somebody worthwhile online; both thinking that trying to meet somebody the "old fashion" way might give them better luck at finding an authentic and true connection. Lo and behold, minutes before they were going to delete their apps, they swiped right on each other and began talking. Finding that they came from similar upbringings, held the same values, and enjoyed the same interests, Christopher asked if Megan would like to go on a date. She agreed and he picked her up for their first date January 30th, 2016. One date turned into two, then three until they decided it was time to meet each other's family's and Megan could finally meet Christopher’s adorable husky mix, Bailey. A few short months later, Christopher told Megan he loved her while celebrating his birthday in Mammoth Mountain. While she didn't say it back right then, Megan knew she loved Christopher too and decided to tell him while they were standing atop Mammoth's Summit admiring the majestic view of the Minarets the next afternoon.

The Proposal

5/30/2021

Christopher knew Mammoth Mountain was the perfect place to propose since it held so much meaning to both Christopher and Megan. Under the guise of celebrating Megan’s 31st birthday and Memorial Day Weekend, Christopher, Megan, Kevin, and their pups headed up to Mammoth for the long weekend. While the original plan was to take the gondola up to the summit, the gondola ended up being closed due to inclement weather. Adapting to a new plan, Christopher decided the hike they planned on doing Sunday would suffice. Throughout the hike, Megan questioned whether they should continue as the trail disappeared halfway up the side of the mountain and she worried that the way back down would be too difficult. Kevin, Christopher, and the dogs charged on encouraged by a fellow hiker on their way down that told them the lake just over the ridge was worth the climb. And oh boy, was it worth it!
