Patrick and Starr started each of their dates with a fresh cup of coffee from their favorite coffee shop. They learned early on the way eachother takes their coffee. Each time they met, they poured over their family stories, daily debrief and plans for adventures they would like to embark upon together in the future. One of the adventures (which was also one of Starr's bucket list items), was seeing the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center. Patrick grew up in New York City and was surprised that Starr hadn’t seen the tree after living in NY for so many years. That day Patrick promised Starr that he would take her to New York City to see the tree before the year was over. Within three weeks, Patrick had planned a trip down to see the tree to fulfill his promise. Now, New York City is about a 2.5 ride from Albany, so the two had a long time to continue to get to know eachother during those hours, which only strengthened their bond. For hours, Patrick and Starr walked around the city, taking in the sites, sounds and smells(good and bad) that the city offers. Between Pat’s Brooklyn accent, dashing good looks and his chivalrous, caring demeanor…Starr was smitten! Patrick was captivated by Starr’s positive and outgoing personality. Eventually, Julian was incorporated into their coffee dates and he enjoyed sitting between Starr and Patrick while they talked. Each time, Patrick would go to say good bye to Julian and Julian would wave and smile( he didn’t talk much back then). After a few months, Jules started to get upset when Patrick had to leave and eventually would ask for him by name…“ Pat-Pat.” I think it’s safe to assume that it was during all of those hours of genuine quality time, a love and a trust began to grow not only between Starr and Patrick, but also with Julian and Patrick…and here we are today, sharing in this couple’s FOREVER kind of love.
