HIS In early 2019, I received a prophetic message from my Pastor on the way my relationship and marriage will go. At this point, I only took it by faith and was hoping to see what was coming since I had been single for a while. Around the end of July 2019, I received a call from one of the amazing mothers God has blessed me with apart from my biological mother. She stated that she was in the US to get me a wife. All I could say was, “Okay ma.” The next thing I knew, I got a message on the 6th of August 2019 with the full name and phone number of my wife to be. There was a message attached to it saying, “Allow God to speak to you. God bless you.” And that was it! I sent my first text ‘Hello’ that very day and the rest is history. Well it wasn’t as smooth as I would have liked. She had some reservations in her mind about me at first but I am happy that she allowed God to speak to her and bent to His will. Fast forward to the very first time we met physically. Although she was already my girlfriend before we met, our physical distance before that moment made it something we were really looking forward to. We were able to see each other for the first time 2nd January 2020. It was a great feeling and from that very day it has been an awesome experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world.
HERS It all started with my dear Mommy Olowofela. She offered that I could go with her to 2019 CAC convention. She stated that I should come over the night before so we could wake up very early in the morning to start our journey. Upon arriving at the Olowofela residence, I met Mommy Ilesanmi for the first time that night. I saw Mommy Ilesanmi looking at me as I walked and talked until she went to sleep but I didn’t think anything of it. As I stayed up late with Mommy Olowofela and Kumbi, Mommy stated that she had someone for me. My initial reaction was no and then to hear that he was in Nigeria, my mind was made up like ‘Not happening. I, Bunmi, will not be doing a long distance relationship!’ That was the thought running through my mind. Anyway, fast forward to the morning of the convention. As we were in the car, Mommy Olowofela brought up our conversation from the previous night to Mommy Ilesanmi and that’s when Mommy Ilesanmi said what was on her mind as she saw me walk in the house last night. She stated that she said to herself, “This is Damilare’s wife.” She took my name and number and gave me his name and told me to pray on the matter. I said okay and went to join my friends as we got to the convention. While at the convention I received a message from someone during the prayer session, which put in my mind, ‘Can this guy from Nigeria, whom I have never met before actually be my husband?’ So I became steadfast in prayer for God to do His will. Fast forward to August of 2019 when I received my first of what will be many text messages from Damilare. God truly molded my heart to accept Damilare because my thoughts were ‘this is unorthodox, this is not how things are done around me.’ But this God we serve, the way He does His thing, it may look unorthodox to some. Some may not even understand it but continue to put your trust in Him and what He tells you.
