About 4 years ago Zoe was looking for a church to attend post the pandemic and stumbled upon Covenant Church of Pittsburgh. Zoe spent a lot of time with all of the young adults in group hang out settings from the mall, to formals, to the movies, and amusement parks. Isaiah was always there but at the time Zoe only viewed Isaiah as a young brother in Christ. It was not until Zoe graduated and accepted a position in Maryland that this story really began. 3 days before Zoe left for Maryland Isaiah took Zoe to dinner. This dinner was intended to thank Zoe and send her on her way to Maryland. Zoe believes God said to her “This is your husband if you so choose” Zoes response to God “But he’s like my brother” shortly after this exchange with God Isaiah begins to share the depths of his heart concerning her. He expresses how from the beginning of the time Zoe was at CCOP how she saw and cared for him well. With tears in his eyes, he expressed to her that she was a second home for his heart, she had a peace worth dying for, and that she was uniquely special. He took her to the nice dinner because he wanted to let her know how much she was worth, for her to understand what her presence carried, and for her not to forget it. After Isaiah's deep and profound words, Zoe was quite speechless and on the ride home asked Isaiah if he liked her. His response was one of "I like you in the same way that I like any other female friend and I believe you deserve to be with the right man". Zoe still slightly confused, could not dwell too much on the topic as she needed to pack up her apartment to move to another state. 1 day before Zoe leaves Isaiah says his final goodbye and cries for the second time ever. (Zoe did not know Isaiah had tear ducts before the dinner on Friday). The day Zoe leaves Isaiah texts to check that she made it okay and wanted to explain why the goodbye was so difficult for him. He explains how it tied very well (too well) into some of his writings. 2 days after Zoe arrived to Maryland she was still homeless and trying to onboard at her new job and Isaiah first asks to call and then calls to say "Zoe I like you, if I were to date anyone it would be you" Zoe being rather unimpressed is like "great what now?" Isaiah then states how Zoe deserves a specific type of man and he was going to continue to move forward in the hopes to become the man she deserved. Zoe who is in disarry and just trying to get her life together is like “Awesome, have a wonderful life.” 2 days after that exchange Isaiah asks to call and proceeds to call again this time he says "Zoe I would like to take you on a date" Zoe Says "What would this date entail" Isaiah says "I am going to tell you who I am and my intentions". Zoe had her things in a storage locker, and she still could not write down an official address to onboarding said “bro give me sometime to think this over.” So she does, in the next 7 days she is able to move into her townhouse and get settled. Once she is a few days from starting her new job she calls Isaiah to say yes he can take her on a date. Isaiah comes to Maryland for the 1st date where after church, the mall, and dinner he showed her who he was and his intentions. The 2nd date was at a place, with mini golf, batting cages, an arcade, etc. It was after the 2nd date that Zoe was like things have been fine but there was no spark and it seemed like the cons outweighed the pros (especially the long distance) BUT following the 2nd date Isaiah said "it was fun playing againist each other but lets do somethings together like praying" So that night we prayed together over the phone. It was after this night of prayer that Zoe's whole perspective shifted, she saw how as she looked back at her journal entries how Isaiah was more then the man she prayed for. She was able to see how Isaiah's love, care, attention to her and for her was a reflection of how the Lord loves and sees her. The rest of the story is history.
