Our love story begins in our prayers with God. Before we ever met, Zach was living out an adventure, traveling the country with his two dogs and walking closer with the Lord daily. Having found peace in the love he received from God, he wanted to share it with someone else, praying for the chance to grow his life with a partner and leaving the timing in God’s hands. His prayers looked something like this: “Lord, I pray to hold someone and love them like You love us, to walk beside them through the trials of life and fulfill Your will on this earth. Susana’s prayers, by comparison, were a bit more specific: “God, please give me a gringo—taller than me, loves cats, and loves the Lord!” God answered those prayers by connecting us from 500 miles away on a Christian dating app. What seemed like a digital coincidence quickly became a divine appointment as our conversations about God and the intellectual things of life took off. The true confirmation, however, came from a simple text Susana sent: "Also, there's a Geminid meteor shower tonight, don't forget to look up!" While she meant the stars, the phrase became a metaphor for our entire life together—a constant reminder to "look up" toward God. That night, as Zach watched hundreds of meteors dash across the sky like angels dancing in heaven, he felt the presence of God confirming this connection was significant. While Zach was having this cosmic, spiritual revelation, Susana was being much more practical; Having already cross-checked him against her 'Tall Gringo/Cat-lover' list, she had simply gone ahead and secretly nicknamed him "The One" to all her friends—long before he even made it to Los Angeles! Once Zach had successfully memorized the names of all her cats, he was ready to travel to meet her! When Zach finally arrived in Los Angeles to meet Susana, there was no mistake in his heart. The feeling was overflowing, and it wasn't long before he said, “Let’s get married on Tuesday!” and she said, “Yes!” To ensure we built our life on a firm foundation, we chose to seek counsel and surround ourselves with our church community to do things the right way. Through that season of growth and engagement, we have been built up by our peers and our faith to finally meet at the altar. We are so grateful for this gift of love, refined through Him, and we cannot wait to join in communion and partnership to do His will on earth starting April 25th
