According to the official UK Government travel advice, the area where our wedding event will take place (Keserwan coast) is not in the regions where travel is advised against. Current guidance relates to specific border areas in the south and far east of the country. Our venue is located in a central coastal area that regularly welcomes visitors from around the world, and Beirut International Airport remains fully operational.
UK passport holders can obtain a visa on arrival in Lebanon. We recommend checking the latest guidance before travelling to ensure your passport is valid for the required period.
From London: Direct flights from London Heathrow to Beirut via Middle East Airlines take approximately 5 hours, the quickest and most convenient option. From Birmingham & Manchester: Flights usually operate with one stop (commonly via Istanbul), with a total journey time of around 7 hours, depending on the connection.
Car Rental: Available at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport with pickup and drop-off options. Rates are generally affordable compared to the UK and offer flexibility to explore the coast, mountains, and nearby towns. Taxis & Transfers: Available across Lebanon and can be pre-booked for airport pickups and travel between cities. We recommend arranging in advance for a smooth arrival. Reliable options include ALLO TAXI and Uber.
Currency: US Dollars (USD) are used for most purchases in Lebanon. Although the Lebanese Pound (LBP) is still used, hotels, restaurants, and services generally price and accept payment in USD. For better rates, we recommend bringing GBP (£) in cash and exchanging locally to USD at a licensed money exchange in lebanon. International cards are accepted in many larger venues, but small surcharges may apply and some smaller businesses may be cash-only.
Mid-September in Lebanon is typically warm and sunny, with daytime temperatures around 25–30°C and cooler evenings (19-22°C).
Arabic is the official language. However, English and French are widely spoken, particularly in Beirut and coastal areas. Most people working in hotels, restaurants, and services speak fluent English, so you’ll have no trouble communicating during your stay.
